Appointment of Justices of the Peace in Pakistan 22a 22b
According to 22A 22B Law in Pakistan the Provincial Government may, by notification within the official Gazette, appoint for such period as may be specified within the notification, and subject to such rules as may be created by it any person who is a national of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and as to whose integrity and quality it satisfied to be a justice of the peace for a local area to be specified in the notification, and over one Justice of the Peace in Pakistan could also be appointed for a similar local area.

Powers of Justices of the Peace in Pakistan
According to 22A 22B Law in Pakistan, A Justice on the Peace in Pakistan for any local area shall, for the aim of creating an arrest have within such area all the powers of a policeman mentioned in section 54 and an officer-in-charge of a police headquarters mentioned in section 55.
By virtue of section 54 and 55 of CRPC Pakistan
Power to arrest
A Justice of the Peace in Pakistan. making an arrest within the exercise of any powers beneath subsection (1) shall, forthwith, take or cause to be taken the person arrested before the officer-in-charge of the nearest police officer and furnish such officer with a report on the circumstances of the arrest and such officer shall therewith re-arrest the person.
Call upon any member of police
A Justice of the Peace in Pakistan for any local area shall have powers, within such area, to call upon any member of the police on duty to assist him.
a) in taking or preventing the escape of a person who has participated within the commission of any cognizable offense or against whom a reasonable complaint has been created or credible info has been received or a reasonable suspicion exists of his having therefore participated; and
b) within the prevention of crime generally and, above all, within the prevention of a breach of the peace or a disturbance of the general public tranquillity. wherever a member of the police on duty has been called upon to render and aid beneath sub-section (3), such call shall be deemed to have been created by a competent authority.
By virtue of Provincial Government
A Justice of the Peace for any local area may, in accordance with such rules as could also be created by the Provincial Government.
Issue a certificate
Issue a certificate on the identity of a person residing within such area, or
Verify any document
verify any document brought before him by any such person, or
Attest any such document
Attest any such document needed by or beneath any law for the time being in force to be attested by a judge, and until the contrary is proved, any certificate therefore issued shall be presumed to be correct and any document therefore
verified shall be deemed to be duly verified, and any document therefore attested shall be deemed to have been as fully attested as if he had been a judge.
Section 22B CRPC Pakistan
Duties of Justices of the Peace in Pakistan
According to 22A 22B Law in Pakistan, Subject to such rules as could also be created by the Provincial Government, each Justice of the Peace in Pakistan for any local area shall.
Making of inquiries
Justice the peace Pakistan on receipt of information of the prevalence of any incident involving a breach of the peace, or of the commission of any offence within such local area, immediately make inquiries into the matter and report in writing the results of his inquiries to the closest magistrate and to officer-in-charge of the nearest Police Station;
b) if the offense mentioned in clause (a) could be a cognizable offense, also prevent the removal of anything from, or the interference in any means with, the place of the prevalence of the offense
c) when therefore needed in writing by a policeman creating an investigation under Chapter XIV in respect of any offense committed within such local area,–
i) render all assistance to the policeman in making such an investigation; ii) record any statement made beneath expectation of death by an individual in respect of whom a criminal offense is believed to have been committed.

Ex-Officio Justices of the Peace in Pakistan
According to 22A 22B Law in Pakistan, In virtue of their various officers, the judges of the high court are Justices of the Peace within and for whole of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sessions Judges are Justices of the Peace within and for the entire of the territories administered by the Provincial Government beneath which they’re serving.
